Club History

Westward FC was established in 1985 and is responsible for providing football to over 250 children in the community at any one time. We have 13 teams ranging from under 7s to under 16s who play in the Echo Junior League.
The club is based in Tower Hamlets and has a reputation for playing exciting football with several players going on to achieve great honours in the beautiful game. The club has had a hand in producing players such as Ashley Cole, Scott Parker, Joe Cole, Lee Bowyer and Jay Boothyord who all eventually went on to represent England at international level. Many more players who went on to play professional football got their introduction to youth football at our club.
Westward FC continuously recruit players from disadvantaged backgrounds from Tower Hamlets and surrounding Boroughs as part of the Westward Inner-City Sport and Education (WISE) Youth Trust – see Charity section.
The club’s success includes 8 London County Cups, 6 Essex County Cups, UEFA Junior Champions, Tower Hamlets Mayor’s Cup and several league titles. The video below documents our success in the UEFA Junior Championships (hosted by Jamie Carragher) whereby not only did we win the tournament but one of our players was given man of the tournament.
